Rod Run 2010

July 22 - 25

After some re-organization we will be having an all new Rod Run in 2010.  This year marks the 30th anniversary of Glacier Street Rod Association Inc.   Our goal is to continue the tradition of the great Rod Runs of the past, and make them better each year.

July 22nd Thursday:  Arrive in Kalispell.  Join us in Kalispell 5:00 PM on Main and 2nd street for the Kalispell Beer Garden - on the street.  Car show (maybe) at the parking lot on 1st Ave E. and 2nd St.  Afterwards, join us at the Finish Line Bar (now Paddys Touchdown Lounge) located on Meridian Road south of Highway 2 East. Happy Hour is 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  Reduced prices on all wine drinks.  Camping available at Foys Lake.

July 23rd Friday: GSRA Inc. Registration will be at RTs Rod shop until 2:00PM. Later at DQ. GSRA will host a garage tour-poker run starting at RTs Rod shop,Center Street and 7th Avenue West.  Breakfast will be served from 7:00AM to 9:00AM.  The event is open to cars at least 40 years old.

July 23rd Friday: Dairy Queen, at 19 E. Idaho St. will be hosting their car show on Friday evening starting at 5:00. 

July 23rd Friday:  GSRA Inc. American Grafitti Cruise the Drag - After the Dairy Queen event, participants are encouraged to drive up and down main street turning around at Dairy Queen or Walgreens on the north end of town and turning at the Salvation Army Store parking lot on the south end of town.   All speed and noise laws shall be obeyed and NO DRAG RACING FROM STOP LIGHTS!!  Business owners in Kalispell will be sitting out on their lawn chairs rooting for their favorite cars.  Some may have prizes or specials.  Stop at local businesses and see what they have.  Period costumes are encouraged.  More details at registration.

July 24th Saturday: Downtown Kalispell Business Community, along with Flathead CARE, will host "GLACIER RALLY IN THE ROCKIES", including a parade at 10:00AM followed by a Show And Shine from 10:30 to 2:00PM on 1st Ave. West for cars and pickups through 1974, as well as motorcycles of all years. There will be over 30 awards given out at 2:00PM to Show and Shine participants. For more info. on this event, call 406-261-3804. Art in the Park.

July24th Saturday: Jimmy Buffett Theme Dinner - bring your parrot head stuff! GSRA Inc. will be having a catered dinner on the lawn at Foys Lake starting at 6:00PM. Dinner is offered for $12.00 per person.  One dinner is included with your GSRA Rod Run registration. Following the dinner will be results for the Friday poker run, American Grafitti Cruise awards, candle log burning, campfire, and lots of visiting. This event is only open to vehicles at least 40 years old. 

The dinner will be similar to past years except we have gotten rid of the heavy, tippy picnic tables.   There will be limited table space at a few plastic banquet tables. Bring your chairs.

There will be a beer vendor on site.  You are welcome to bring your own beverages to the Lake as well.  Please drink responsibly and have a designated driver if you are not staying at Foys Lake. 

July 25th Sunday:  Foys Lake - Breakfast 9:00 AM.  Join GSRA members and other Rod Run participants for fun and games.   The volley ball net will be up, there is swimming, boating.
